hoonie's question:
I’ve noticed that the Golden Temple is the only attraction in Amritsar. What is so special about it and why do so many say that it is a must if you are passing by?(give a different answer) .
Because it is a breath-taking construction and a remarkable spiritual experience. The Golden Temple is a complex that has been destroyed on various occasions by Muslims, but each time it has grown more beautiful and it has enlarged its significance in the Sikh culture. The Golden Temple is a marble-sculptured building, decorated in the style of Taj Mahal. It is built in the middle of the lake, formally considered by Buddha as a site “where salvation could be obtained”, and the original book of Guru Granth Sahib is kept in the temple during the day . The main chamber is the golden dome, an inverted lotus flower, built from pure gold, that is meant to suggest the concern of the Sikh culture for the worldly problems. Also, it is free to visit.
