The Natural History Museum, off the Mall Road, hosts a vast collection of fauna of the region. It's only closed on Wednesday afternoons and on Thursdays, all the other days open from 10 to 16:30.Only 2 US$ the entrance, highly recommended. The Everest Museum, on Jawahar Road, with an impressive zoo, also worth visiting.
