The Qutb Minar Complex in Delhi-a return to the 12th century

Posted 1 year ago by avatar dulio in response to nonside's question: What is the area with the most touristc sights gathered in the same place? I am in Delhi for only one day so I don't have much time. (give a different answer) .

A must-see of Delhi would be the Qutb Minar Complex, with its Minar(built in the 12th century and meant to represent the model of all later minars in India) and Islam Mosque, the earliest in India. The architecture resembles much that of the Arabian Muslims. Iltutmish's Tomb, in the nortwest of the complex, is the oldest tomb of a Muslim ruler in india. Fee required only for the tombs: 5 US$. Open from early in the morning until early in the evening.
