It is a memorable visit that to the Fort of Jaisalmer. Especially in the dawn light, when it seems that nothing has changed in the area and the maharajahs are still there. The grandeur of it all, the atmosphere on those laneways, the tranquility of the inside that literally hits you while you walk in the imposing and indestructible gates, it all seems cut out of the legendary “Arabian nights”. It is a great place for just walking and admiring, but there are a few museums and temples there worth visiting, not to mention the number of shops which delight you with exotic merchandise.
