A lovely day trip to the Srirangapatnam island, near Mysore

If you take a day off from visiting Mysore, you should take into account Srirangapatnam Island, 12 kilometres away from Mysore. Among other interesting sights, the Jama Masjid temples, that date back to the 17th century, and the beautiful summer palace of daria Daulat Bagh. The palace is closed on Fridays only and is accessible by a 2US$ fee. The paintings on the walls are worth every penny.
