In Shimla, during the high season- summer, most of the hotels over-price their rooms, thus I suggest visiting during the low season. You will find good rooms-clean, cozy, with private bathroom, and TV- at the Sangeet Hotel, down at the eastern end of the Mall. Indeed, it is a little far from the center, but the area is peaceful, it provides those facilities and most of the rooms have great views. Doubles go from Rs700 to Rs900 in the high season, but the go down to half in low season. The phone number there: 202506.
