Chapslee Hotel in Simla

On Lakkar Bazaar, there's the Chapslee hotel, a manor house built by the British in 19th century, when they ruled India. They couldn't bear the heat anylonger, so they hid in the northern hills of Simla. At around 7000 feet, in the lap of Himalayas, Chapslee is chilly enough, with Gobelin tapestries, Venetian chandeliers and Persian carpets. You'll pay at least 105$ for a double room, all meals included.
