The views the lakes offer are breath taking views. The biggest one is Lake Pichola, which was extended when the City Palace was built. On the lake, there are two islands, both hosting palaces. The one on Jagnivas Island is the most impressive, but it is now a hotel and access is allowed only for enjoying meals and only when the hotel isn’t fully booked. Over looking the lake, it seems that the palace is floating, because there isn’t any room left for anything else on the island. The other one, the palace on Jagmandir Island, is said to be the source of inspiration for the Taj Mahal. Both are unique places.
